Travel and Transport to Cannes

Cannes is very easy to get to.  Air, road and rail links are excellent.

By Air

Via NICE AIRPORT:   Nice Airport is the second busiest airport in France and is well-served by many major airlines, including  British Airways, Air France, Easyjet,  AerLingus, BMIBaby, RyanAirJet2

Most guests will arrive by air at one of Nice Airport's two terminals, from where several transport options are available to Cannes.

Coach/ bus travel

There is a frequent direct coach service via the A8 autoroute from both terminals at Nice Airport. It takes under 45 minutes to get to Cannes.

A slower bus takes the RN7 coastal route. It stops on the Airport Promenade, the main road just beyond the airport perimeter close to Terminal 1.

The bus station in Cannes is next to the port near the old town and there is a good service for the suburbs and outlying towns.

Getting to Cannes by train

Cannes is a major travel hub and has very good rail connections with the rest of France and Europe.

The main railway line runs all along the coast , east towards Monaco and Italy and west to Marseille, with fast TGV links from Toulon to the rest of France and Europe.

There is a frequent train service to the centre of Cannes from Nice St. Augustin station, which is about 10 to 15 minutes' walk from Terminal 1 at Nice Airport ; the journey takes around 30 minutes.

Taxis

Taxis wait outside the arrivals hall at both terminals of Nice Airport and at the railway and bus stations in Cannes.

Pre-booked taxis and shuttles can work out less expensive than airport cars. Please ask for local contact numbers.

 


By Road

Everything with wheels from a Ferrari to a bicycle can be hired here. 

All the major car rental agencies have offices at Nice, Marseille and Toulon airports and in the centre of Cannes. The best available rates can usually be found by checking on cost comparison websites.

Road access to Cannes is via the A8 Autoroute or the RN7 coastal road.
